Need help on report?

Question 2: Recently there has been a great deal of controversy over the possible security risks of certain VOIP (Voice over IP) software/services such as skype and several others. Your task is to investigate the issues whether or not these concerns are justified.

so far i only have the intro done this is it:
Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) was invented in 1973 by the Network Voice Protocol (NVP) Company for the use of ARPANET providers. VOIP is a tool that allows you to call other PCs’ from your computer. Now VOIP is integrated into various software such as: Skype, Glophone, BuddyTalk, and etc…, for the public to use, but because of the way it works there are some general side effects to using it

i have to use 1000-1500 on this report( this is half of it i finished the other half, i used about 980 words on it)
I have only like 4 more days to finish it. I need help with it (if possilbe plz write it b/c this part is hard for me, or just give me ideas on how to do it, thxs

What are the specific concerns and problems? Are there examples you can give? The courts have ruled that cell phone transmissions do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy, would this area garner the same ruling? Is there a safe program? If you address these, you’ll have at least a thousand words AND answer the question. Good luck.

How do I go about getting voice over work?

Author: admin  //  Category: voiceover talent

I have a very good speaking voice and a talent for building rapport with people. Where do I start? I’m not looking for anything glamorous, just some extra income.

I am a professional sound designer/composer who has worked with a few voice talents. It is very hard to get paid at first if you have no experience with voice work. You need at least a few credits first before people will pay you for your time. One of my friends who I must say is the most talent I have encountered so far, had to do 3 gigs with no pay. That is rare. I think on average, you may need about 5 gigs to prove yourself. It also depends on the type of gig. If the production is successful/well known/prestigious then you may find a paying gig right after.

The best route is to find a few gigs for free. Build up a portfolio, references then find some acting/voice talent agency. I can’t refer you to any agencies since I don’t know where you live. But I’m sure if you research you can find some if you live in a city.

The best way to find free gigs:

Find some schools where students produce their own animation or games with an audio program.

Games is a great gig. If you can do multiple voices, they may get you to do all voices of your gender. It shows versitility. Voice acting is sought after in games. Especially good voices with real acting ability.

Also, you may try to find some sound engineering schools where they have to record dialogue for their projects, this way they will provide you with a recording studio and you’ll have experience in a studio.

One school that may have all the programs mentioned is The Art Institute.

You may also try to post up ads on Craigslist.com.

Or

mandy.com – film scouting site.

My friend mentioned above is working exclusively with me as his sound person. You may want to find a sound engineer that will work with you for a low price. There are many sound engineers that have just entered the industry. They may want to record you for practice and low pay. Try finding one on Craigslist.com

Good luck!

Is there any way to record a voice over the internet conversation? Like a conversation over skype.?

Author: admin  //  Category: internet voiceover

I only have headphones, no speakers so I can’t use a recorder =/
Is there a program that will allow me to record it?

If you enable stereo mix on your sound card (google it) you can record any sound you hear off your computer. If you hear it, it records it… Download audacity (free) and set it to record from stereo mix after you’ve enabled it. Google will show you how to do that. You just go into sound settings, tell it to show hidden devices and right click stereo mix and enable.

How can I get a voice over agent to listen to my voice over demo? How can I get a vo agent to represent me?

Author: admin  //  Category: voiceover talent

I have contacted many agents looking for representation. Most of them state that I need to be recommended by someone that is already in the voice over business, for any agent to listen to my demo. I can do a variety of voices and have the talent, but I just don’t have the connections. Any help would be most appreciated.

It is good that you have a demo. Although, you might very well have some excellent natural ability, the truth is, in most business it is the ‘who you know’ factor. I would recommend start working with a voice-over coach. They could offer you some educational insight you might not have considered, also, a reputable coach will have some strong connections to the industry. I would start there.

VOIP – Voice Over Internet Protocol; how reliable is this communication solution?

Author: admin  //  Category: internet voiceover

For the company I work, I am looking into possible new communication services. I have heard of VOIP, but I would like to hear from someone who has experienced it to know what to expect. Is this solution reliable and worth the investment. I am told we would have to replace all our current phones, but the cost savings for the services would pay for the investment in the first year.

VoIP is worth the investment…

however in a commercial application you should have multiple internet connections for redundancy with a multi-WAN router as well as a UPS for back up battery power of your network equipment…

if you are using SIP phones then you will need to replace your phones, but if you use an analog telephone adapter you can keep your existing phone system and phones… the SPA8000 is an 8 line analog telephone adapter http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps10025/index.html
